The fifth free, all-day PAGES workshop for all who work with readers will take place Friday, October 28, 2016 at the Stanley A. Milner Library in Edmonton.
The past 4 PAGES events (2008, 2010, 2012, 2014) have provided invaluable opportunities for those who work with readers to learn, engage with each other, and reflect on the significance of reading in people’s lives.
The 2016 workshop, focusing on the theme “Beyond Reading,” will feature keynote speakers Neal Wyatt and Dr. Margaret Mackey. Neal Wyatt is a well-known readers’ advisory expert, book reviewer and former Library Journal Mover and Shaker; and Dr. Mackey is a professor and researcher in the field of young people’s literacy and literature in both print and other media. PAGES will also feature additional speakers on the challenging theme of literacy beyond the printed word.
Don’t miss out on this exciting free event. Librarians, students, booksellers, academics, teachers, and all who work with readers are welcome.
“Thank you to the event organizers for their hard work! I go to so many technology-themed conferences and it’s so refreshing and exciting to go to such a high quality conference that is reader/readers advisory focused – this is such a vital part of library work that often gets lost in a lot of other conferences.”
